Hurricane Katrina was one of the deadliest and costliest hurricanes in the history of the United States. This piece, by Argentine artist Leandro Erlich, reminds us of the tremendous damage natural disasters, like Katrina, can cause.
Titled "Window and Ladder - Too Late for Help," the outdoor sculpture features an unattached empty window floating atop an extension ladder. The piece gives the optical illusion that it's standing upright without any kind of support.
Erlich's piece exhibited in Paris, Sao Paulo, and most appropriately in the Lower 9th Ward in New Orleans.
